1. Who we are
MeshEdit is a macOS app developed and published by Unikia (formerly Open Southeners), based in Valencia, Spain. In this policy, “we” means Unikia. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. Data we collect
None. MeshEdit doesn't collect, store, sell or share personal data, and it sends no information to our servers or anyone else's. In particular:
- You don't need to create an account or sign in.
- It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking.
- The app's settings are stored only on your Mac.
3. Your models and iCloud Drive
The models you create, open, edit and export are processed only on your Mac. MeshEdit runs inside the macOS sandbox and only reads or writes the files you choose in Open and Save panels.
If iCloud Drive is on, new models are saved in the MeshEdit folder in your iCloud Drive so they're on all your Macs. That storage belongs to your Apple Account, is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and we have no access to it. You can turn this off in Settings › General.
Preview videos and images you render are saved in your Movies folder.
4. Features that run on your Mac
Generate Material uses Apple Intelligence on your own device, and building models from photos uses Object Capture, also on your Mac. MeshEdit doesn't send your descriptions or your photos off the device.
5. AI agents
If you choose to connect an AI assistant (such as Claude Code, Codex or Claude Desktop) by following Settings › Agents, the assistant runs a small helper included with MeshEdit that talks to the app locally, on your Mac, without any network connection.
- The assistant can read open documents. The first time it tries to change one, MeshEdit asks your permission, and every change can be undone.
- It can only open or save files through panels you confirm.
- What the assistant does with the information it reads depends on that assistant and its provider, and is covered by their own privacy policy. MeshEdit sends nothing to those services on its own.
6. Bug reports and feedback
Help › Report a Bug… opens our public feedback board (meshedit.canny.io) in your browser and copies to the clipboard the app and macOS versions, your Mac model, the GPU, and the open model's size and recent messages, without file names. MeshEdit doesn't send this information: you decide whether to paste it into your report. What you post on Canny is visible to others and is also covered by Canny's privacy policy.
If you've turned on “Share with App Developers” in macOS settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports. They contain nothing that identifies you, and we use them only to fix bugs. You can turn this off in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
7. Purchases
MeshEdit Pro is a subscription bought and managed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment, and we don't receive your payment details or your identity: the app only checks, on your Mac, which purchases your Apple Account has, to unlock the matching tools.
8. Children
Since MeshEdit collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.
9. Your rights
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them only as long as needed to handle your request. Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete that data by emailing us, and you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
10. Changes to this policy
If the way MeshEdit handles data changes, we'll update this page and the date above before releasing the affected version of the app.
11. Contact
